Applying for Membership

Any person seeking membership of Hamilton Golf Club requires to complete an application form which can be obtained from the Secretary.

Details are as follows:

 GENT:

  • Application is for Full Membership. *
  • There are no residency or family qualifications, and applications may be submitted for men over the age of 16.
  • Forms may be obtained from the Secretary and must bear two counter-signatures: one of the Proposer and one of the Seconder, both of whom must be adult Gent members, and both of whom must know the applicant.
  • An applicant may also select the option of ‘Weekday Membership’ which may be granted while he is awaiting the invitation to become a ‘Full Member’; accepting Weekday Membership does not affect the applicant’s position on the waiting list.
  • A waiting list current stands at around 300. This year, 35 individuals were taken from the list. Approximately 150 names are on the list for Weekday membership and, this year, 30 were admitted. It is very difficult to predict intakes, year on year.
  • A charge of £58.75 is payable upon joining the waiting list, credited against the eventual entrance fee.
  • At present, the Full annual subscription is £650 and the entrance fee is £1,300, payable in the first year.
  • The Council of the Club is empowered to refuse any application.
( * Youth Membership is only available to current Junior Members and is a transitional category between Junior and Full.)
 

LADY:

  • Application is for Lady Membership. *
  • There are no residency or familial qualifications, and applications may be submitted for women over the age of 16.
  • Forms may be obtained from the Secretary and must bear two counter-signatures: one of the Proposer and one of the Seconder, both of whom must be adult members, either Gent or Lady, and both of whom must know the applicant.
  • There is no Lady Weekday option.
  • A charge of £58.75 is payable upon joining the waiting list, credited against the eventual entrance fee.
  • There is a small waiting list, but any applicant should be prepared to afford the respective fees at short notice.
  • At present, the Lady annual subscription is £438 and the entrance fee: £650, payable in the first year.
  • The Council of the Club is empowered to refuse any application.
